Short Film: THE TEARS OF SHIVA, 32min., Action Sports

Change is part and parcel of development and Nepal is undergoing a major transformation. Using water resources to generate energy is one of its pillars for the future, even if this means paying too high a price. Four kayakers set out to descend the fierce waters of the Karnali, as part of an expedition to one of the country’s most remote and extreme rivers, with the intention of learning and enjoying the hidden secrets of this sacred river, before the lack of human consciousness destroys them forever.

This is their stories, why this sport means so much to them and what it actually takes to pursue a career as a professional cyclist.

ACTION Festival TV 1st Scene Reading: Orpheus, by Richard Giarraffa

Set in Ancient Greece, our protagonist Orpheus gets entangled with the god Apollo, who teaches him how to play his lyre, becoming a muse and an instrument used by gods for their bidding. Within the year he turns 18, Orpheus performs alongside other Apollo protégés and is chosen to go abroad with Jason and become an Argonaut by playing his instrument. After experiencing war and coming into the full realisation of what it means to be chosen, Orpheus now determines in himself to free himself from this burden, be a free man and free from the bidding of the gods.
