Get to know the writer:

 1. What is your screenplay about?

THE SHROUD TRINITY centers on a theft of the Shroud of Turin. I have it come to Washington for an exhibit (a man who runs the Shroud website told me that would never happen). A trio of heroes gets it back, young, brilliant nun, a DC detective, and a New York City street thug/alcoholic seminarian.

2. What genres does your screenplay fall under?

The genre is action/adventure, though the case could be made that it’s a religious film as well.

3. Why should this screenplay be made into a movie?

The script should see the light of day because it’s a good, well-paced story with original characters.

4. How would you describe this script in two words?

Relic rescued.

5. What movie have you seen the most times in your life?

A Man for All Seasons.

6. How long have you been working on this screenplay?

When I worked on the screenplay, it took me about four months to complete it. Sometimes, if the story is good and the situations favorable, I can burp a screenplay out quickly.

7. How many stories have you written?

With screenplays, I have two other screenplays written in draft. (Both could be finished and refined quickly.) I have three others “in development” (euphemism alert!). I actually have four screenplays total for my Shroud team.

8. What is your favorite song? (Or, what song have you listened to the most times in your life?)

Morning Glow.

9. What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?

The major one was getting my word processor on my second-hand computer to work.

10. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

I’m in long-term recovery, so I’m passionate about that. I’m a prison-reform activist as well.

11. You entered your screenplay via FilmFreeway. What has been your experiences working with the submission platform site?

The platform is an excellent, user-friendly clearinghouse for contests.

12. What influenced you to enter the festival? What were your feelings on the initial feedback you received?

I knew my script out be a good fit.
